Marshall Meadows Manor House is seeking an ambitious and passionate Deputy General Manager to join our senior leadership team and help shape the future of one of Northumberland's most exciting independent luxury hotels.
Nestled within 12 acres of beautiful grounds overlooking the Northumberland coastline, Marshall Meadows Manor House is a Four Silver AA Star country house hotel, home to our AA Rosette-awarded Restaurant 1782, luxury bedrooms, weddings, private events and unforgettable guest experiences.
Working closely alongside the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day leadership of the hotel, inspiring our teams, driving operational excellence and ensuring every guest receives the exceptional service that has become synonymous with Marshall Meadows Manor House.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager or existing Deputy General Manager who is ready to take the next step within an ambitious, privately owned business.
What We're Looking For
- Previous senior management experience within a quality hotel, country house hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
- A passionate and inspirational leader who enjoys developing people and creating high-performing teams.
- A hands-on approach with a visible presence throughout the hotel.
- Excellent knowledge of hotel operations including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Sales and Events.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing departmental performance, wage costs and profitability.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence to make decisions, solve problems and support colleagues across all departments.
- A proactive attitude with a desire to continually improve standards, systems and guest satisfaction.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the overall leadership and day-to-day operation of the hotel.
- Lead, motivate and develop departmental managers and their teams to achieve exceptional performance.
- Ensure consistently high standards of guest service across every department.
- Drive operational excellence and continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor financial performance, wage costs and departmental profitability.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, coaching and succession planning across the business.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager, Head Chef and Food & Beverage team to continually enhance the guest dining experience.
- Maintain compliance with all health & safety, licensing and company policies.
- Act as Duty Manager when required, leading the hotel with professionalism and confidence.
- Build strong relationships with guests, colleagues and suppliers, acting as an ambassador for Marshall Meadows Manor House.
