PHLEBOTOMIST - UNION BRAE & NORHAM PRACTICE
Union Brae & Norham Practice is looking for a reliable, compassionate and enthusiastic phlebotomist to join our friendly and supportive team. The role is a permanent one and part-time (minimum of 16) Monday to Friday.
Our practice has a patient population of approximately 7,200 patients. The successful candidate will be primarily based at our main surgery at Union Brae in Berwick, with occasional cover required at our branch surgery in Norham.
We are looking for someone who is professional, approachable and committed to providing a high standard of patient care. You will play an important role in supporting our clinical team and ensuring patients receive a positive and reassuring experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced phlebotomist who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care. Previous experience in phlebotomy and a recognised qualification would be preferable; however, we are also happy to consider applicants who have the necessary prerequisites and are willing to undertake appropriate training to develop into the role.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Taking blood samples from patients safely and efficiently
- Recording and maintaining accurate patient information
- Providing kind, respectful and compassionate patient care
- Working effectively as part of the practice team
- Ensuring high standards of infection prevention and patient safety are maintained
The role will involve working across both Union Brae and Norham surgeries, so a full driving licence is essential.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has GCSE-standard English and Maths
- Is computer literate
- Has a kind, polite and compassionate manner
- Communicates clearly and confidently with patients and colleagues
- Is reliable, enthusiastic and committed to delivering excellent patient care
- Has previous phlebotomy experience and a recognised qualification or is willing and able to undertake the appropriate training
Essential Requirements
Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will be required to:
- Complete a Hepatitis B vaccination programme
- Successfully complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- Hold a driving licence, as the position involves working across both surgeries
