Company Overview

Welcome to Macdonald’s Farm. A small, family run campsite in one of the best locations in Cornwall. Only a 10-minute walk to beautiful Pothcothan beach this really is a wonderful place to work and relax. We are a 20-minute drive in either direction from Newquay or Padstow and we are on the doorstep to the Coastal Path.
Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Assistant to join our team at Macdonald’s Farm in Porthcothan. This role is vital in ensuring the well-being of our animals and providing excellent care for our guests. You will be part of a friendly environment committed to animal welfare and guest satisfaction. The role requires you to work every Saturday - 4hrs and one other day in the week - 4hrs. Overtime is also available during our busy times.
Responsibilities

Assist with daily animal care routines, including feeding, cleaning, and health monitoring.
Support the maintenance of animal habitats and ensure cleanliness.
Engage with guests by sharing knowledge about the animals and farm activities.
Help coordinate animal-related activities and events.
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for animals, staff, and visitors.
Maintain accurate records of animal care activities.
Collaborate with team members to improve farm operations.
Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
Qualifications
Proven experience or genuine interest in animal care.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Reliable driving skills are highly desirable.
Good communication skills and a friendly attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic IT skills for record keeping.
Previous experience in a farm or animal care setting is advantageous but not essential.
Enthusiasm for working outdoors and engaging with animals.
