About this opportunity:
Toad Hall Farm Equine Rehabilitation & Performance was newly built and founded in 2021, and is a truly magnificent equine facility. We comprise a 25 box livery yard and Therapy Centre made up of FMBs therapy systems, water treadmill, cold water salt spa, and Sea Climate system. All set in extensive land, in the heart of the peaceful Sussex countryside. The facilities here are all top class, and with its huge potential we have put a brilliant team in place to run each aspect of this business effectively. This has taken time, and is an ever evolving journey. The current team combine a range of skills and experience, each working and specialising in a different area’s of Toad Hall whilst also working in close collaboration as a team to deliver excellent equine care.
We are looking for a new apprentice for this exciting opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team learning all the skills you require for a full career in the equine industry.
Duties to include, but not limited to;
Turning out and bringing in
Mucking out
Feeding, watering and haying
Grooming
Clipping and trimming
Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
Bandaging
Tacking up
Lunging/ long reining
Assisting with visits from professionals
Involved with all aspects of equine rehabilitation offered on site.

Horse handling experience (details of which must be shown on your application)

Desired qualifications
GCSE or equivalent, Grade C/4 or above in maths and English preferred but not essential
Future prospects
The opportunity for employment or to move onto a Level 3 Senior Groom Apprenticeship should the position be available for a suitable candidate
Training
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship.
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
