We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in supervising kitchen staff and managing daily food preparation activities
- Oversee food production to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
- Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and plating techniques
- Manage team schedules, delegate tasks, and support staff training and development
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Contribute to menu planning and development of new dishes to enhance customer experience
- Support during busy periods by actively participating in cooking and serving as needed
Requirements
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential
- Proficiency in cooking techniques across various cuisines and styles
- Experience in food serving and customer interaction is desirable
- Leadership qualities combined with organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
