Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, reliable and proactive individual to join our team as a Golf Retail Assistant in our on-site Pro Shop. The candidate will need to work occassional days (which could be on a weekday or a weekend) plus holiday cover to fit in with the staff that already work here.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting golf equipment, apparel, and accessories
- Upsell products to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including handling cash and card payments
- Provide information about products, promotions, and services offered at the golf course
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the retail area to ensure an inviting shopping environment
- Communicate effectively with customers in English
- Handle phone enquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls as appropriate
- Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Experience in merchandising or retail sales is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of golf experience is also preferred but not essential
- Good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse customers
- Ability to upsell products tactfully while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Organised with good time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment is advantageous but not mandatory
