This is a permanent, full time vacancy that will close in 5 days at 23:59 BST.

The vacancy

Hours: 35 hours per week / 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)

It’s an exciting time to join our in-house Audit & Risk team. You’ll have the opportunity to make a difference and shape future approaches to delivering assurance over our internal controls, systems, processes and compliance with regulatory standards.

We are looking for an experienced internal audit & risk manager that will add value to the organisation in their delivery of wide range of audits, covering our operations, corporate and support services areas of the business. You will be responsible for planning and delivering the internal audit programme, ensuring activity is clearly evidenced, reported and followed through to completion.

Working with a devolved operating model focussed on quality and doing the right thing for our residents. You will coordinate the risk management framework, including strategic, operational and fraud risk, ensuring processes are in place and embedded across the organisation to ensure we are efficient, accurate and complaint.

Building relationships is a must, you’ll need to connect with senior stakeholders and support management in highlighting and mitigating risk. Providing expert knowledge and guidance to our senior leaders to resolve issues.

Although the role is home-based, travel across the geographical area is required as needed. There is also an expectation to attend Head Office in Birmingham to support team development activities.

What we’re looking for

The essential requirements for the role include:

Fully qualified CIIA / CCAB
Significant demonstrable relevant experience in managing internal audit provision.
Sound awareness and experience of changes and development in
Regulatory, legislative and governance requirements in the Housing and/or Care Sector.
Strong knowledge of risk management principles, frameworks, and methodologies, including strategic, operational, and fraud risk, and the ability to apply these effectively within a complex organisational environment.
Knowledge and or experience of Board Assurance Frameworks, including an understanding of three lines model and assurance mapping
Knowledge and or experience of effective anti-fraud and whistleblowing arrangements.
Significant demonstrable experience of engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Significant experience of preparing and delivering professional reports and presentations.
