Strategic Account Manager / Account Director – Higher Education

IT Services | Managed Services | Digital Transformation

Higher Education isn't just another vertical for our client – it's a strategic growth area.

We're working with one of the UK's leading technology services providers to recruit an experienced Strategic Account Manager / Account Director to help drive continued growth across the UK's Higher Education sector.

Working with an established portfolio of Universities, Research Institutions and key Public Sector customers, you'll build trusted relationships, develop strategic accounts and identify opportunities across cloud, cyber security, managed services, digital workplace, infrastructure and professional services.

This is a genuine consultative sales role, working with customers on long-term technology strategies rather than one-off product sales.

The Role

Develop and grow strategic relationships across Universities, Research Institutions and the wider Public Sector.
Manage and grow an established portfolio of accounts whilst identifying new business opportunities.
Work closely with technical, consulting and delivery teams to develop winning customer solutions.
Sell across a broad portfolio including cloud, cyber security, managed services, infrastructure and professional services.
Deliver against a significant services revenue target.

About You

You'll have a successful background selling IT services, managed services or technology solutions into Higher Education and/or the wider Public Sector.
You'll understand how Universities and Public Sector organisations buy technology, be comfortable engaging with CIOs, IT Directors and other senior stakeholders, and enjoy developing long-term strategic customer relationships.
You'll also be comfortable owning a significant services revenue target, with annual objectives (gross profit) typically ranging from £750k to £2m, and have a proven track record of delivering against similar goals.
We're particularly interested in hearing from people with experience at organisations such as Computacenter, Softcat, Logicalis, SCC, CDW, Insight, XMA, Phoenix Software, ROC Technologies, Bytes Technology Group, CGI, Fujitsu, Version 1 and other leading IT services businesses.
