Full job description

Job Overview

Blackfriars F.C. are looking for a committed and enthusiastic U9s Team Manager to lead and support our Under 9s squad as we prepare for the upcoming season. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building a team culture, supporting player development, and helping young footballers enjoy the game in a positive environment.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to work closely with UEFA A and UEFA B Licensed Coaches, gaining valuable insight, mentorship and professional development.

The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable, and passionate about grassroots football.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the organisation of the U9s team, including weekly attendance and communication.
Support coaches in delivering fun, age-appropriate training sessions.
Coordinate matchday logistics, including team selections, equipment, and player availability.
Liaise with parents regarding fixtures, session updates, and club expectations.
Promote positive behaviour, respect, and teamwork in line with club values and FA Respect guidelines.
Ensure players are supported emotionally and socially, helping them build confidence and enjoyment.
Maintain a professional, welcoming environment for both players and parents.

Strong organisational skills and reliability.
Good communication skills with parents, coaches, and players.
A positive attitude and passion for youth development.
Ability to create a supportive and enjoyable environment for children.
Understanding of grassroots football values and good sportsmanship.
Willingness to follow safeguarding procedures and club policies.

Desirable

Experience working with children in sport, education, or coaching.
FA coaching qualifications (Level 1 / Introduction to Coaching Football).
First Aid and Safeguarding certificates.

Safeguarding Requirement

All successful applicants will be required to complete a DBS check and relevant safeguarding training in line with FA guidelines.
