As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing innovative mechanical and electromechanical solutions that help shape the future of our gaming products.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and development of mechanical and electromechanical products from concept through to production.
- Create and review 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation using SolidWorks.
- Translate customer and business requirements into innovative, robust, and manufacturable product designs.
- Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and value engineering activities to optimise performance, quality, and cost.
- Lead design reviews, technical investigations, and problem-solving activities to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Plan and oversee prototyping, testing, verification, and validation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics, software, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and suppliers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks while supporting project planning and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Support engineering change management, product improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Contribute to innovation, technology development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in mechanical product design and development within a manufacturing environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.
- Experience developing electromechanical products and working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Proven ability to apply DFM, DFA, and engineering best practices to deliver commercially successful products.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to technical decision-making.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of engaging effectively at all levels.
- Experience working with PLM systems and engineering change control processes.
- A hands-on engineering mindset, with experience supporting prototype builds and product testing.
- Ability to balance technical excellence with commercial, cost, and schedule considerations.
- Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership within project teams.
- Experience within gaming, entertainment technology, consumer electronics, or a similar product-focused industry would be advantageous.

Working Model
This role is based at our Chadderton office and follows a 4-day-per-week onsite working model . We believe that regular in-person collaboration helps drive innovation, strengthens teamwork, and enables our engineers to create the exceptional products we're known for.
