As part of our continued growth, we are currently looking to recruit Yard Shunters to strengthen our Transport team
About The Role
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Yard Shunter / Loader to join our team in New Covent Garden Market. One for Day Shift and One for Night The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our yard, aiding in the loading process, moving and parking vehicles, and performing vehicle checks.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:

Vehicle Movement: Move and park vehicles around the yard and loading bays safely and efficiently and Ensure vehicles are empty of any pallets and boxes ready for reloading.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

Vehicle Checks: Conduct regular vehicle checks to ensure all vehicles are in good working condition and report any issues to the management, take Photos and use Check sheet.

Loading Assistance: Aid in the loading process to ensure timely and accurate loading of goods onto vehicles.

Cleanliness: Where required ensure all vehicles are washed in/out

VOR: Ensure VOR vehicles are parked in a controlled area.

Fridge Temp: Ensure the fridge units are working effectually and pulling temp.

Defects: Report any defects found on vehicle inc Fridge temp.

Vehicle Damage: Report any new damage found on the vehicles and take photos.

Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Attributes:
-
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.

Licences: A valid driving license is required. HGV licence is a plus.

Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Reliable and motivated: Able to work under pressure with a “can do and will do” attitude

Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items

Driving Licence : With minimum of one year experience

Class 2 Licence would be an Advantage
Shift Patten (5-6 Day Rota)

Sunday – Friday (not Inc Saturday) followed by Monday – Friday (inc bank hol)

8 Hour Shift plus 1 hour for lunch based on 48 hour working week
