HOLIDAY CAMP ASSISTANT COACH
Pay: £10.85 to £13.00 per hour, inclusive of rolled-up holiday pay
Location: Woodlands Primary School, Tonbridge, Kent, TN10 4BB
Dates: Monday 19 October to Friday 30 October 2026, weekdays only
Hours: Approximately 8.00am to 5.00pm
Contract: Full-time or part-time fixed-term contract, with potential opportunities during future school holidays
Training: Paid pre-camp training will take place on a weekend. Attendance is required and the date and timings will be confirmed in advance.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Rising Stars Activities is looking for enthusiastic, caring and dependable Assistant Coaches to join our new multi-activity holiday camp at Woodlands Primary School.
Working alongside a Lead Coach, you will help deliver fun and varied days for children aged 4–12. Activities will include sports, active games, creative sessions and team challenges.
You do not need to arrive as an expert coach. What matters most is that you are responsible, positive, willing to learn and genuinely enjoy helping children take part.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Lead Coach in delivering safe, engaging and inclusive activities
- Encourage children to join in, make friends and try new things
- Help supervise children during sessions, breaks, lunch and transitions
- Follow headcount, register and secure collection procedures carefully
- Model positive behaviour and reinforce clear, age-appropriate expectations
- Give additional support to children who may be shy, unsettled or finding an activity difficult
- Help set up, check and put away equipment and activity areas
- Keep spaces organised and help the day run smoothly and on time
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and incident-reporting procedures
- Raise any welfare or safety concern immediately with the Lead Coach or Venue Manager
- Contribute energy, ideas and a helpful attitude to the wider camp team

- Can work actively throughout the day, indoors and outdoors
- Understand the importance of safeguarding, professional boundaries and following procedures
- Work well in a team and are happy to help wherever needed
- Can attend the required paid weekend training session
- Have the right to work in the UK
Previous experience with children through coaching, childcare, schools, clubs, volunteering or family activities is helpful but not essential.
Relevant qualifications and paediatric first aid are preferred but not required, as induction and guidance will be provided.

Appointment is subject to safer-recruitment checks, including satisfactory references, proof of identity and right to work and an Enhanced DBS check for regulated activity.
Applicants must hold an appropriate Enhanced DBS or be willing to complete a new check before starting work.
