Athersley North Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Out of School Club Assistant Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team.
The successful candidate will support the Co-ordinator with the day-to-day running of our extended school’s provision, helping to provide high-quality care and creative play opportunities for children before and after school.
The role is worked on a split-shift basis, with hours from 7.30am to 9.00am and 3.00pm to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to contribute to a positive, inclusive and stimulating environment where children feel safe, happy and valued.
The role, working as part of a small and supportive team, you will assist with:
- Providing creative, safe and appropriate play opportunities for children.
- Preparing and delivering activities as part of the Club programme.
- Providing full care and supervision of children attending the Club.
- Collecting children from their classes and supervising their collection by parents and carers.
- Preparing and serving snacks and meals in accordance with healthy eating standards.
- Maintaining accurate registers and assisting with the collection of extended school fees.
- Administering first aid where appropriate.
- Keeping activity and dining areas clean, safe and tidy.
- Supporting administrative tasks associated with the smooth running of the Club.
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, carers, school staff and the wider community.
- Encouraging parental involvement and support for the Club.
- Working closely with the Out of School Club Co-ordinator and supporting the effective day-to-day operation of the provision.
- Supporting the Co-ordinator and, following appropriate training, being prepared to undertake the Co-ordinator's duties on a temporary basis when required.

- Is able to work effectively as part of a small team.
- Is organised and able to undertake basic administrative responsibilities.
- Is willing to undertake relevant training and develop their skills.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding, children's wellbeing and maintaining a safe environment.
- Is committed to promoting equality, inclusion and positive relationships with children and families.
Previous experience of working with children would be desirable, together with relevant childcare or first aid qualifications, although we would welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate the appropriate skills, attitude and commitment to the role.
