Full job description

Based in the buzzing town of Aberteifi (Cardigan) in South West Wales, we are an independent microbrewery with 13 years of trading experience, and an excellent track record for high quality beer. We have built a solid reputation for brewing traditional, full flavoured, AND robust beers, with quality and consistency at the forefront of our business.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic technical brewer to work within our small team.

The role will suit someone with strong technical brewing knowledge and a practical, hands-on approach to beer production, along with a real passion for brewing high quality beers that people want to drink again and again.

As part of a small team, you'll need to be flexible, and willing to get involved wherever is required.

Key Responsibilities

Technical brewing on a 10BBL plant, from raw ingredients, to wort production, fermentation, transfers and packaging.
Follow recipes and processes to ensure consistent, high-quality beers are produced.
Managing yeast, including harvesting, storage, pitching rate calculation, generation tracking, etc.
Some weekend and out of hours work required, on a rota basis.
Adhering to, and maintaining health and safety processes.
Order preparation and stock management of raw materials, ingredients and consumables
Carry out routine quality control checks.
Brewery shop sales, order taking, events, etc.
General cleaning.
Deliveries.
Help maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment

Skills & Experience Required

Good communication skills and a team player. As part of a small team, working together to a common goal is essential.
Minimum of 1 year brewing experience or at least 3 years’ experience in a demonstrable highly technical role.
Polite and good with people, both staff and customers.
Strong practical brewing knowledge is an advantage, with the ability to work independently.
Strong attention to detail and total commitment to quality.
Valid driving licence.
Strong organisational skills and accurate record keeping.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
A willingness to contribute across all areas of the business as part of a small team.
Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
