Your New Role
As a Payroll Administrator, you will work closely with the Finance Manager, providing payroll support and carrying out general payroll and financial administration duties. We are hiring based on attitude and willingness to learn, with opportunities for progression within the company over time.
Key Responsibilities & Outcomes – Assisting with
- Processing weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Inputting employee timesheets into Sage from paper/email submissions
- Reporting missing timesheets to Department Managers weekly to ensure all submissions are received before payroll deadlines
- Maintaining accurate payroll and employee records
- Supporting payroll queries from employees and managers via email and phone
- Assisting with pension administration and payroll-related deductions
- Supporting the wider finance team as needed
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Providing support during year-end payroll processes and audits
- Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and company procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a payroll, finance, or administration role
- Understanding of payroll processes and payroll administration
- Ability to prepare, process, and maintain accurate records
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Flexible approach with the ability to support the wider finance team
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management
- Willingness to learn and develop within the role
Qualifications and Skills Needed
- Level 2 AAT or above.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Experience with payroll systems and data entry
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
- A strong willingness to learn and improve
- Experience working with Sage Line 50 and/or Sage Payroll is a plus
- Previous experience as a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Assistant, or similar role is preferred
- Experience in the Construction Sector is ideal, but we are seeking the right person with the right attitude and personality
