Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Sawyer/Warehouseman to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating saws and related machinery to cut and process materials efficiently and safely. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in warehouse operations, Steel handling to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. The position involves physical labour, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety standards to ensure smooth workflow and product quality.
Duties
- Operate various types of saws and cutting equipment to process materials according to specifications.
- Handle materials safely using appropriate techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from lorries or storage areas.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory and update processing records accurately.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and meet production targets.
- Conduct routine maintenance on saws and related machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, particularly in materials handling or construction environments.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to operating saws, forklifts, or similar equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily duties.
