Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dispenser / Dispenser Checker to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring patient safety. Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols
- Verify prescriptions against doctor’s orders and patient information
- Check medication labels, dosages, and instructions to ensure correctness
- Assist with medication administration under supervision where applicable
- Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies
Experience
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and protocols
- Experience in patient care settings is advantageous
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and record keeping practices
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
Essential to the role is if only a dispenser now, must commit to becoming a dispenser checker. In addition to this, contract will require overtime with sufficient notice from the business to suit business needs when deemed appropriate. Staff member must be willing to progress towards a checker.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
