Description:
Due to increased workload and extended work areas we are looking for additional drivers to join our team.
We are a family run business looking for enthusiastic, hard working, trustworthy drivers who will help us deliver a first class service to our customers. We have a number of positions available working in North and Mid Wales into Cheshire, Shropshire and the Wirral.
As a recovery driver you will be attending broken-down cars, vans and motorcycles. This will be a variety of mechanical failure or RTC damaged vehicles and can be home addresses, on the roadside or from fields and ditches. You will load onto vehicle on to recovery truck (using specialist equipment if needed) and take to designated drop-off point i.e. garage, home address or other destination.
For minor faults such as a jump start or wheel changes your role will be to carry out this work rather than recovering the vehicle. (equipment will be supplied for this)
Jobs are managed through an app and you need to keep this updated and record all necessary info for each job you attend (training given)
You will be responsible for daily checks on your vehicle as well as keeping it clean inside and out
Experience:
Experience of the Breakdown & Recovery industry is an advantage but full training will be given All applicants must have at least 1 year’s commercial driving experience in a HGV.
Training:
We carry out in house training. after minimum period of 6 months IVR training will be provided.
People Skills:
All applicants must have superb customer care skills and be able to communicate effectively with the general public in stressful and difficult situations. There is never a “good time to break down” and people can be upset and worried, especially being by the side of the road.
Applicants must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
Extra Skills: Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics, such as jump start battery / wheel change is preferred.
Positions available
Transporter Drivers - 7.5t and Class2 with or without towing entitlement These are temporary positions for the summer period (until end September).could lead to a permanent postion
Roadside Technician - must have good mechanical knowledge to carry out roadside repairs, will be in service van with RDT for towing cars/bikes that cant be repaired. This is a permanent position
Night drivers - minimum 7.5t, Class2 with or without towing entitlement or Class 1. This is a permanent position
Requirements
Digi-Tacho: Required on starting
Driver's CPC: Full DCPC required
Applicants must be able to pass DBS check
Shift Pattern:
Various shifts,
4days on 4days off early or evenings
5days on 3days off
Nights 7pm-3am
Shifts vary from 8hrs to 12hrs
Salary: TBC; depending upon skills and experience and shift pattern
