Furniture Collection & Delivery Driver
Northwest Moving Company is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and reliable person to join our team, working on behalf of a local charity to collect and deliver furniture.
Full-Time Position
This is a full-time position, 4 or 5 days per week, including Saturdays. You can choose whether you would prefer to work 4 or 5 days, giving you some flexibility around your working week.
This is a varied role where no two days are necessarily the same. You’ll be visiting people’s homes and charity shops throughout the day, collecting and delivering furniture and representing the charity, so excellent communication and people skills are essential.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Collecting and delivering furniture from homes and charity shops
- Safely lifting and moving items such as tables, wardrobes, sofas and other household furniture
- Working as part of a friendly team
- Providing a professional, helpful and respectful service to members of the public
- Representing the charity positively at all times
- Going above and beyond to provide excellent customer service
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
- Enthusiastic, friendly and reliable
- Physically fit and comfortable with lifting and moving furniture throughout the day
- Confident dealing with members of the public in their homes
- A good communicator with excellent people skills
- Willing to go the extra mile and take pride in their work
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
A full UK driving licence is essential and applicants must be aged 25 or over.
A DBS/CRB check will also be required, as you will be working in people’s homes on behalf of a local charity.
What we offer
- Full-time work – 4 or 5 days per week, including Saturdays
- Flexibility to choose 4 or 5 working days
- No commuting costs – you won’t need to travel to a depot each morning
- Home collection and drop-off – you will be collected from your home and dropped back home at the end of your working day
- Alternatively, you may be able to take the company van home, allowing you to travel directly to your first job
- You are paid from the moment you are collected / start your working day until you return home
