Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Home Manager to support the leadership and operational management of our residential care home specializing in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in leadership and dementia care, with proven management and supervising experience. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while working within a supportive and professional environment. The Deputy Home Manager will assist the Home Manager in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, adherence to care plans, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Duties

Work active floor shifts alongside the care team
Support the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans for residents.
Supervise and mentor care staff, promoting best practices in person-centred care and maintaining high standards of service.
Administer medication safely and accurately in accordance with prescribed protocols.
Lead on training, and performance management.
Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, liaising with healthcare professionals as necessary.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to residential care.
Promote a positive environment that encourages independence, dignity, and respect for residents.
Assist the Home Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
Support the organization’s quality assurance processes through audits and feedback mechanisms.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Deputy Manager within a residential care setting
Experience supporting elderly residents, including those living with Dementia and challenging behaviours
Ability to complete compliance audits and staff supervisions
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Compassionate, caring, and professional approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Alternate weekends availability
Knowledge of medication administration protocols and regulatory requirements for residential care homes.
Experience in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
Excellent written and verbal English
