About Restoration Team Ltd
Restoration Team Ltd is a specialist heritage restoration contractor delivering high-quality conservation and restoration projects across London and the South East. We work on some of the UK's most historic and architecturally significant buildings, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern conservation techniques.
We are looking for an experienced Stone Restorer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing exceptional workmanship and enjoys working on prestigious heritage projects.
The Role
As a Stone Restorer, you will carry out a wide range of stone conservation and repair works on historic and listed buildings. You will have experience using specialist stone repair materials and traditional masonry techniques, while working alongside other skilled trades to deliver projects to the highest conservation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out high-quality stone repairs using specialist Stone Repair Mortars
- Apply façade repair systems and other specialist restoration products
- Undertake traditional lime mortar pointing to a high standard
- Repair, restore and conserve damaged natural stonework
- Apply protective coatings and specialist finishes in accordance with project specifications
- Assess defects in stonework and carry out appropriate conservation repairs
- Work on predominantly pre-1919 and listed buildings
- Work closely with stonemasons, builders, roofers, joiners and other specialist trades
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to conservation best practice
- Maintain excellent standards of workmanship and attention to detail
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in stone restoration, masonry conservation or heritage construction
- Experience using stone repair mortars and specialist restoration materials
- Strong knowledge of traditional lime mortars and pointing techniques
- A good understanding of conservation principles and historic building repair
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude with a strong work ethic
- A valid CSCS card (preferred)
- A full UK driving licence (preferred)
Desirable Experience
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
- Stone indent repairs
- Brick restoration and repointing
- Façade cleaning (DOFF, steam or specialist cleaning systems)
- Crack stitching and structural masonry repairs
- Heritage conservation projects
- Working on Grade I, Grade II* and Grade II listed buildings
