Miaris Group owns and manages a growing portfolio of takeaway restaurants, hospitality businesses, and investment properties. We are looking for a reliable, organised, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Office Administrator to support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the business.
This is a varied role that combines bookkeeping, supplier price verification, financial administration, and general office management. You will work closely with the Directors, accountants, restaurant managers, suppliers, and contractors to help ensure the business operates efficiently and accurately.
Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Finance
- Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping records.
- Process purchase invoices, supplier payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare financial records for the external accountants, including VAT support.
- Assist with payroll administration and employee expense processing.
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software.
Supplier & Price Management
- Verify supplier invoices against agreed prices and contracts.
- Monitor product costs and identify pricing discrepancies.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve pricing and invoice queries.
- Update product and supplier pricing records where required.
- Help monitor purchasing costs and identify opportunities for savings.
Office Administration
- Manage company correspondence, emails, telephone enquiries, and filing systems.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, letters, and business documentation.
- Maintain organised digital and paper records.
- Order office supplies and coordinate with service providers.
- Schedule meetings and provide administrative support to the Directors.
Business Support
- Liaise with restaurant managers, suppliers, contractors, and external accountants.
- Support property administration, including maintenance records and contractor coordination.
- Assist with HR administration, including employee records, onboarding, and holiday tracking.
- Help maintain company licences, insurance, compliance documentation, and general business records.
- Provide administrative support for business projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, dependable, and enjoys working with numbers while keeping the office running smoothly.
You will have:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts administration, or office administration.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- The ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive attitude with the confidence to work independently.
Desirable
- AAT qualification or equivalent bookkeeping experience.
- Experience within hospitality, retail, wholesale, or property management.
- Knowledge of VAT, supplier invoice reconciliation, and stock or purchasing administration.
