We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fibreglass Laminator (GRP Technician) to join our production team. Working within our traditional coachbuilding operation, you will be involved in the manufacture, repair, and finishing of high-quality vehicle body components for specialist commercial vehicles.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship and wants to be part of a skilled team producing bespoke vehicle bodies to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Hand lay-up fibreglass laminating and GRP component manufacture
- Preparing moulds, tooling, and materials for production
- Trimming, finishing, and repairing fibreglass components
- Applying gel coats, resins, and reinforcement materials
- Carrying out quality inspections throughout the production process
- Reading and working from technical drawings and specifications.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Supporting the wider coachbuilding team where required
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Fibreglass Laminator, GRP Technician, Composite Technician, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of hand lay-up laminating techniques
- Experience working with resins, gel coats, and composite materials
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Experience within vehicle body building, coachbuilding, marine, or composite manufacturing sectors would be advantageous
