About B-Engineering Group
B-Engineering Group is a commercial HVAC and electrical contractor based in the North West of England, delivering installation and maintenance services to businesses across the region and surrounding counties. With a team of 50, we've built a reputation for reliable, high-quality work and straightforward, honest relationships with our clients.
We work directly with end users as well as facilities management businesses, supporting them with everything from routine maintenance contracts to full installations, so their sites keep running smoothly day to day. Our engineers and office team take pride in getting the job done properly, first time.
We're a certified B Corp, which means we exist to do good — not just for our clients, but for our people, our community, and the environment. Balancing profit with purpose is at the heart of how we operate.
As we grow, we're investing in smarter ways of working — including exploring how new technology and tools can support our engineers and office teams to work more efficiently. It's an exciting time to join us, whether you're on the tools or in the office.
The Role
This is a brand-new role for us, created because we can see the potential for AI tools to save time, cut admin, and improve how we run the business — but we need someone dedicated to actually making it happen.
You won't need to be a software developer or data scientist. You'll need curiosity, common sense, and the confidence to try things, test them, and roll them out across the team.
Typical tasks will include:
- Identifying repetitive or time-consuming admin tasks across the business (quoting, scheduling, invoicing, H&S, project management, reporting, customer communications) that could be improved using AI tools
- Trialling and implementing off-the-shelf AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT/Claude, Microsoft Copilot, scheduling software) to solve real day-to-day problems
- Training colleagues — from office staff to engineers — on how to use new tools confidently
- Writing simple guides and processes so improvements stick after you've implemented them
- Working closely with our office and operations teams to understand pain points
- Keeping an eye on new AI developments relevant to a trades/contracting business and bringing ideas back to the team
What We're Looking For
- A recent graduate (any degree discipline considered — we care more about attitude than your subject, but must be passionate about AI)
- Genuine interest in AI and how it's changing the way businesses work
- Strong communication skills — you'll need to explain tech ideas to people who aren't techy
- A practical, "get stuck in" mindset — this is a hands-on role in a hands-on business
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable learning new software quickly
- A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
No prior experience in HVAC, electrical, or construction is required — we'll teach you the business side. What we can't teach is enthusiasm and initiative, so that's what we're after.
What We Offer
- A genuine opportunity to shape a new role and make a visible impact from day one
- Full training and support — this is a learning role, not a "sink or swim" one
- Private healthcare, salary sacrifice company pension, employee assistance programme, death in service insurance. 32 days holiday including your birthday off.
- A friendly, down-to-earth team environment
- Office-based at Birchwood, Warrington
How to Apply
Send your CV and a short covering note (no more than one A4 page) telling us about a time you used AI to solve a problem — big or small — to [email protected] or apply directly through Indeed.
We're not looking for a polished essay — just a genuine example and a bit about why this role interests you.
