As a 3D Artist you will produce highly realistic renderings of products for a range of uses, primarily for display on the website.Working from assets created by the modelling team, the 3D Artist is responsible for placing products into digitally created photographic environments and progressing them to a fully finished, photorealistic standard. This includes adding all necessary components such as feet, mechanisms, and electronic elements, while ensuring accuracy and consistency in lighting and materials.
The role requires effective use of Sofology’s proprietary systems and processes, including render queuing scripts within 3ds Max, to deliver a high volume of high-quality renders efficiently.
Producing photo realistic product renders for web and digital use
Creating lifestyle imagery to a high standard with minimal supervision
Delivering a full suite of assets including:- Hero imagery- Cameo shots- Extreme close-ups- Editorial-style social content
Applying and testing lighting setups and material accuracy to ensure consistency with real products
Completing post-production in Photoshop, using batch processing tools and action scripts
Preparing and renaming assets in line with catalogue requirements and upload them accurately
Ensuring all outputs are a true reflection of the physical product
Taking Responsibility for the creation of the following assets:- Lifestyle & Close-up renders- Product renders- PBR Materials and shaders- Seamless tiling texture maps
Supporting with Material approvals with our commercial team- Batch renaming and render upload- Management of the render farm and render queue
Collaborating with the wider 3D team, our QC department and the commercial team, to ensure complete product accuracy
Excellent portfolio demonstrating relevant skills and experience
Experience of 3DS Max, V Ray and Photoshop
Experience producing high quality materials
Experience creating high quality CGI lifestyle photography
Experience working within a team
Experience working with AI tools and systems would be advantageous
