About the Role
Swim Central Preston is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and motivated Swimming Teacher to deliver high-quality school swimming lessons as part of our growing school swimming programme.
This role involves teaching primary school children in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment, helping them develop confidence in the water and progress through structured swimming lessons.
This position initially offers Monday mornings from 09:30 – 12:00 during term time, with opportunities for additional hours as our school swimming programme expands across multiple days. Successful applicants will be given priority consideration for these future opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality swimming lessons to school groups of varying ages and abilities.
- Create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
- Support pupils in developing water confidence, swimming technique, and water safety awareness.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records where required.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Work professionally with school staff, pupils, and Swim Central colleagues.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must hold at least one of the following qualifications:
- Swim England / ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification
- STA Level 2 Award or Certificate in Teaching Swimming
- Level 2 Baby and Pre-School Qualification
In addition, applicants must:
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety.
- Be able to adapt lessons to suit different abilities and learning styles.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding requirements.
