£13.45 per hour
Full-time, permanent

"This is not a typical warehouse job"
Due to continued business growth, More Than Safety is looking for a reliable and detail-focused Warehouse & Production Operative to join our friendly team at our head office in Hedge End.
This is a varied, hands-on role that goes well beyond simply moving boxes. Alongside picking, packing and dispatching orders, you will learn how to use our stock and order-management systems, carry out stock checks using handheld scanners, prepare customer-specific kits, and operate our in-house equipment to customise workwear and PPE.
One day you may be receiving and checking a large delivery; the next, you could be preparing a bespoke order, assembling safety kits, processing an urgent customer shipment or helping produce branded clothing.
Accuracy is extremely important to us. Our customers rely on us to supply the correct products, sizes, colours, quantities and branding—often for safety-critical environments.
What you will be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Picking customer, production and internal orders accurately.
- Checking part codes, quantities, colours, sizes and branding.
- Packing orders securely and preparing them for courier collection.
- Receiving, inspecting and processing incoming deliveries.
- Matching goods against purchase orders and delivery paperwork.
- Processing goods receipts and customer deliveries using SAP.
- Using handheld scanners to carry out stock checks and cycle counts.
- Reporting shortages, incorrect items and stock discrepancies.
- Replenishing stock and placing goods into the correct bin locations.
- Preparing items for our embroidery and heat-seal production departments.
- Assembling and packing customer-specific PPE and equipment kits.
- Learning to use our in-house production equipment to customise clothing and PPE.
- Keeping warehouse, picking, packing and production areas clean, safe and organised.
- Monitoring packaging materials and other warehouse consumables.
- Communicating clearly with purchasing, customer service, production and other departments.
Our warehouse processes are carefully controlled. For example, incoming goods are checked against their purchase order before being entered into SAP and stored, while dispatched orders are checked for the correct product, size, colour, quantity and branding before leaving us.
You will also work with structured picking priorities, labelled order tubs, production queues and designated warehouse locations rather than simply picking loose products from shelves.
What we are looking for
You do not need to know every part of the role from day one, as full training will be provided. However, you will need to be:
- Dependable, punctual and willing to take responsibility.
- Extremely accurate, with a strong eye for detail.
- Comfortable following clear procedures and completing paperwork.
- Organised and able to work through tasks in priority order.
- Confident using computers or willing to learn systems such as SAP.
- Comfortable using handheld scanners and warehouse equipment.
- A good communicator who works well as part of a team.
- Willing to learn production processes and practical new skills.
- Able to work safely in a physically active warehouse environment.
- Comfortable lifting, moving and packing stock as part of your normal duties.
Previous warehouse experience would be helpful, particularly in picking, packing, goods-in, dispatch or stock control. Experience with PPE, tools, workwear, SAP, embroidery or garment branding would be an advantage, but it is not essential.
Why join More Than Safety?
More Than Safety is an established and growing specialist supplier of workwear, PPE, tools and workplace safety products. We support major organisations with everything from everyday orders to bespoke workwear, equipment kits and customer-specific solutions.
You will be joining a close-knit team where your work is noticed and valued. This role offers genuine variety and the opportunity to develop skills across warehousing, stock control, computer systems, production and garment customisation.
