Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Vehicle Dismantlers to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely dismantling vehicles in a professional environment, ensuring all parts are removed efficiently and accurately. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with an interest in automotive mechanics and hands-on work, providing valuable experience within the vehicle recycling industry. The position is paid and suitable for those who are physically capable of handling demanding tasks.
Responsibilities
- Safely dismantle vehicles using appropriate hand tools and power tools, following safety protocols at all times
- Remove and organise vehicle parts for resale or recycling purposes
- Use mechanical knowledge to identify and extract valuable components efficiently
- Perform heavy lifting of vehicle parts and assemblies, adhering to safe lifting techniques
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored correctly after use
- Assist with the disposal of non-recyclable materials in accordance with environmental regulations
- Conduct quality checks on dismantled parts to ensure they meet company standards
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience working with automotive components is preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly throughout shifts
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Physical fitness to handle demanding manual tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in vehicle dismantling or similar roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
