Fluid Glass is a leading specialist architectural glazing company working on high-end residential homes and prestigious commercial buildings across the UK.

Fluid is known for producing high quality work and works alongside many of the UK’s leading architects on bespoke residential and commercial projects. Attention to detail is extremely important throughout the business and forms a major part of our reputation.

The Role

We are looking for someone to support the design department with drawing coordination, checking and general technical support.

The role is mainly office based and would suit someone who is organised, technically minded and enjoys detailed work.

You will be responsible for:

Allocating projects and drawing tasks to designers
Checking drawing packages before issue
Marking up comments and sending amendments back to designers
Ensuring drawing packages are completed to the standard expected by the company
Monitoring drawing deadlines and helping ensure submissions go out on time
Managing and improving the company detail library
Carrying out general checks on glass specifications before engineer review
Supporting the Design Manager with day-to-day design department tasks

The role will also involve hands-on AutoCAD work including:

Amending details
Preparing CI drawings
Assisting with glass drawings for manufacture
Updating drawing revisions as required

Requirements

Strong AutoCAD ability
Strong organisational skills
High attention to detail
Comfortable reviewing technical drawings
Able to manage multiple tasks at once
Good communication skills

Construction or glazing experience would be useful but is not essential.

Graduates will be considered, as well as applicants with practical/site experience.

The team is very experienced, organised, capable and supportive, and we will provide training as needed, but we do expect people to be proactive, switched on and willing to learn.
