We are seeking an experienced and reliable Hard & Soft Landscape Team Leader to oversee daily site operations, lead a small team, and ensure high‑quality delivery across a range of commercial and residential landscaping projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong practical skills, proven leadership ability, and confidence operating a variety of plant and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise landscaping teams on hard and soft landscape installations
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and site plans to deliver works accurately
- Carry out ground preparation, planting, turfing, fencing, paving, and associated works
- Operate plant and machinery including dumpers, excavators, tractors, and other site equipment
- Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Conduct daily briefings, allocate tasks, and monitor team performance
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and site progress
- Liaise with clients, site managers, and internal office staff to ensure smooth project delivery
- Uphold company standards for health & safety, environmental compliance, and site presentation
- Support training and development of junior team members
- Assist with site logistics, deliveries, and equipment management
- Represent the company professionally at all times
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in hard and soft landscaping
- Strong practical knowledge of landscaping techniques, materials, and installation methods
- Competent operator of dumpers, excavators, tractors, and similar machinery
- Full UK driving licence and age 25+ (insurance requirement for company vehicles)
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and technical drawings
- Proven experience leading teams or supervising site operatives
- Strong understanding of health & safety practices and RAMS
- Good communication skills and a professional, reliable work ethic
- Ability to work independently and solve problems on site
- Physically fit and capable of manual outdoor work in all weather conditions
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- CPCS/NPORS tickets for plant operation
- CSCS card
- Experience working on large‑scale commercial developments
- Knowledge of ecological or environmental landscaping practices
- First Aid certification
- Trailer towing licence (B+E)
