InstaLoft is the longest-established and largest loft storage specialist in the UK. Since 2014 we have completed over 72,000 installs, installed over £100m of work, and built the best Trustpilot rating in the industry. We run 8 regional depots across the country and employ over 150 people, and we are growing fast.
That growth depends on hiring the right people across every part of the business and keeping them. This is a role for someone who wants to own that outright and build it properly.
The opportunity:
This role has full responsibility for recruitment and onboarding across the business, covering a wide range of positions including installers, self-employed sales surveyors, office-based teams, management, and head office functions.
The primary focus and where the greatest hiring volume and business impact lies is attracting and onboarding our installation teams and self-employed sales surveyors. Success in these areas directly supports business performance and growth. Alongside this, you will lead recruitment across all departments, as main point of contact for hiring managers throughout the organisation.
Beyond delivery, you will have the autonomy to shape, optimise, and continuously improve our recruitment and onboarding processes, driving best practice and creating a world-class candidate experience. As the function evolves, there is a clear opportunity for this role to expand into a group-wide Talent position, supporting recruitment strategy across multiple brands.
What you will be doing:
- Owning end-to-end recruitment across every department, from advert to offer, with installation and sales as your core focus.
- Shaping and improving recruitment and onboarding processes to a world-class standard, with the autonomy to influence how hiring is done here.
- Sourcing proactively across job boards, social, referrals and passive channels, not just waiting on applications.
- Running a consistent, structured interview and assessment process so hiring decisions are based on evidence.
- Building pipelines of quality candidates ahead of need, applying a proactive approach.
- Own the end-to-end onboarding experience for every new starter, ensuring they are set up for success from day one and equipped to perform, engage, and thrive in their role.
- Working closely with managers across every department and with senior leaders to keep standards high and fill roles quickly.
- Using our recruitment data and dashboards to improve cost per hire, time to hire and early retention.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience of hiring at volume, ideally including field, trade or sales roles in a high-turnover environment.
- The ambition and capability to shape and improve recruitment and onboarding, improving current processes.
- A proactive talent sourcer who identifies, attracts, and engages high-quality candidates, rather than relying solely on inbound applications.
- Someone who can hold a quality bar across very different types of roles, from tradespeople to office and management hires.
- Confidence to work with and influence managers across the whole business.
- A genuine passion for creating an outstanding onboarding experience and improving employee retention, with a focus on long-term success rather than simply filling vacancies.
- Competence in using data to make and improve hiring decisions.
- Full UK driving licence (occasional depot travel may be required).
What success looks like:
- Vacancies filled faster, with better candidates, at a lower cost per hire, across all departments.
- Recruitment and onboarding processes that are genuinely best in class.
- New starters who become productive more quickly and build long-term careers with the business.
- Strong, ready pipelines for our highest-volume roles.
- A hiring and onboarding model strong enough to roll out across the group.
What you get:
- £40,000 to £50,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
- Based at our Telford head office (flexible working available).
- 31 days annual leave (including bank holidays).
- Company pension, employee discount and referral scheme.
- The autonomy to own and shape the recruitment and onboarding function.
- A genuine path from this InstaLoft role into a group-wide Talent remit as you develop the model.
- The chance to own a function and make a visible, measurable difference from day one.
If you want a role where you have the freedom to shape and build world-class hiring and onboarding experience, and where you are measured on the people you hire, how they perform and how long they stay, we would like to hear from you.
