Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Assistant to join our dynamic procurement team. In this vital role, you will support the purchasing process by coordinating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help streamline our supply chain operations, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our business. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in procurement systems and supply chain management within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders using ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, or Oracle EBS.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and pricing agreements.
Track order status and update relevant stakeholders on delivery timelines to ensure seamless logistics operations.
Support negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, discounts, and delivery conditions.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, purchase history, and supplier information within ERP platforms like SAP ERP or AS400.
Coordinate with logistics teams to facilitate smooth movement of goods across the supply chain network.
Assist in evaluating supplier performance and identifying opportunities for process improvements in merchandising and procurement workflows.

Skills

Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 is essential for managing procurement data effectively.
Strong negotiation skills to secure advantageous terms with suppliers while maintaining positive relationships.
Knowledge of logistics, supply chain processes, and merchandising practices to support efficient purchasing activities.
Familiarity with procurement modules within ERP systems to streamline order processing and inventory management.
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Ability to communicate clearly across teams and with external vendors to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
Basic understanding of supply chain principles to support continuous improvement initiatives.
