Pipe Fitters Mate / Fitters Mate – Commercial or Industrial experienced.
Location: Zone 1 , Central London
Start: Ideally Immediate but in reality 1 week or so.
Duration: Minimum 2-month assignment.
Hours: 47 hours per week, Monday to Friday with an early Friday finish.
Payment: Weekly via CIS/UTR.
Overtime: Available and paid at enhanced rates.
Jefferis Engineering Ltd is looking for an experienced Pipe Fitters Mate / Fitters Mate to join our site team on a commercial mechanical project in Zone 1, Central London.
This is a minimum 2-month assignment, working alongside experienced Pipe Fitters on the installation of mechanical pipework systems and associated plant.
This is not a general labouring or domestic plumbing role. Applicants should have previous experience in commercial and/or industrial mechanical environments and be recently qualified to Level 2 in a relevant mechanical or pipefitting discipline, or currently working towards their Level 2 qualification.
The Role
Duties will include:
- Assisting qualified Pipe Fitters with the installation of mechanical pipework systems
- Measuring, marking out and preparing pipework and fittings under supervision
- Assisting with pipework connections to heat pump systems, buffer vessels and associated plant
- Assisting with the installation of brackets, pipe supports and associated fixings
- Assisting with condensate traps and associated pipework
- Preparing fittings, valves, materials and tools ready for installation
- Assisting with positioning, levelling and securing pipework
- Following drawings and instructions issued by Pipe Fitters and site supervision
- Supporting day-to-day mechanical installation activities
- Maintaining good housekeeping and safe working practices
Please note that roof-level work is involved applicants must be comfortable working at height and within external roof areas. Working to the SSow and RAMS paramount.
Requirements
- Valid CSCS card.
- Recently achieved, or currently working towards, a relevant Level 2 mechanical or pipefitting qualification.
- Previous experience as a Pipe Fitters Mate, Mechanical Mate or similar.
- Experience on commercial and/or industrial mechanical projects.
- Domestic-only plumbing experience will not be considered sufficient.
- Able to provide suitable references to support your application.
- Comfortable working at height.
- Good understanding of site health and safety.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a site team.
- Right to work in the UK.
