About the Role

Birmingham Regulatory and Business Compliance Solutions Ltd is looking for an analytical, organised and detail-focused Regulatory Compliance Analyst to support clients and internal teams in meeting regulatory, governance and operational requirements.

The successful candidate will review business processes, assess compliance risks, maintain regulatory records, support monitoring activities and prepare clear reports for managers and client stakeholders. They will work closely with compliance officers, risk specialists, operations teams, legal advisers and project managers to identify control gaps and recommend practical improvements.

This role is suitable for a compliance professional with experience in regulated environments, internal controls, audit support or financial-services operations who is ready to take greater ownership of monitoring and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Review business activities against applicable regulatory requirements
Support the development and maintenance of compliance frameworks
Conduct routine compliance monitoring and control testing
Assess whether policies and procedures are being followed
Identify potential breaches, weaknesses and control gaps
Record findings and recommend corrective actions
Maintain accurate compliance registers and monitoring records
Track remediation actions and agreed completion dates
Support regulatory-risk assessments
Assist with client and supplier due-diligence reviews
Review customer-onboarding and verification processes
Support anti-money laundering and know-your-customer controls
Analyse transaction, operational and customer data for compliance risks
Review documentation for accuracy, completeness and consistency
Support the preparation of internal compliance reports
Produce management information and compliance dashboards
Monitor key risk indicators and control-performance measures
Assist with internal and external audits
Gather evidence requested by auditors or regulatory reviewers
Support responses to information and documentation requests
Maintain policy, procedure and training records
Help update compliance policies when requirements change
Monitor regulatory publications and industry guidance
Summarise relevant developments for internal stakeholders
Support compliance training and awareness activities
Prepare training materials, guidance notes and communications
Respond to routine compliance enquiries from employees and clients
Escalate significant concerns to senior compliance professionals
Support investigations into suspected policy breaches
Maintain confidential and sensitive records securely
Assist with complaints, incidents and regulatory-event reviews
Review conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality declarations
Support third-party and supplier compliance assessments
Participate in project meetings and risk workshops
Contribute to process-improvement and remediation projects
Maintain clear audit trails for completed reviews
Manage multiple monitoring activities and deadlines
Promote a culture of accountability and regulatory awareness

Qualifications and Experience

Degree or professional qualification in Law, Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management or a related subject
At least two years of experience in compliance, risk, audit, governance or regulated operations
Practical understanding of compliance-monitoring processes
Experience reviewing policies, procedures and control evidence
Ability to identify risks, gaps and inconsistencies
Experience preparing reports and documenting findings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to interpret regulatory and procedural requirements
Confidence working with spreadsheets, reports and structured data
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to manage several priorities and deadlines
Strong organisational and record-management skills
Ability to communicate professionally with clients and stakeholders
Confidence handling confidential and sensitive information
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider compliance team
Good professional English-language skills
Right to work in the United Kingdom

Preferred Experience

Experience in banking, insurance, investments, payments or professional services
Knowledge of UK financial-services regulation
Familiarity with Financial Conduct Authority expectations
Experience supporting AML and KYC processes
Knowledge of customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence
Familiarity with sanctions-screening requirements
Experience with compliance-monitoring plans
Knowledge of operational-risk and control frameworks
Experience supporting internal or external audits
Familiarity with whistleblowing and conflicts-of-interest procedures
Knowledge of UK GDPR and data-protection requirements
Experience using governance, risk and compliance systems
Familiarity with Power BI or reporting tools
Professional certification in compliance, risk or financial crime
Experience working with consultancy clients or multiple business units

Pay: £29,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
