Job Summary

HR ADVISOR / HR OFFICER

Flexible Full-Time or Part-Time Opportunities

Permanent | Flexible hours | Family-owned business group

Pay dependent on experience

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a varied role with genuine flexibility?

We are a successful and growing family-owned group operating several different businesses. We are looking for either:

One experienced HR professional working full-time with flexible hours; or
Two part-time HR professionals whose different skills and experience complement one another.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a varied, hands-on position in which you will become a trusted point of contact for managers and employees across the group. You will help us support our people, protect our businesses and ensure HR matters are handled practically, fairly and consistently.

Your responsibilities may include:

Providing practical HR guidance to managers and employees
Supporting recruitment, interviews, induction and probation reviews
Preparing and maintaining contracts, policies and personnel records
Advising on absence, performance, capability and conduct
Supporting disciplinary, grievance and employee-relations matters
Managing maternity, paternity, parental and other statutory leave
Helping managers handle workplace matters confidently and fairly
Supporting payroll with relevant employee information Keeping the group compliant with UK employment legislation
Improving HR processes, systems, training and employee development

ABOUT YOU

You will be approachable, organised and confident, with sound judgement and the ability to work independently. You will understand that good HR is about supporting people while also protecting the business.

You should have:

Experience in an HR Advisor, HR Officer or generalist HR role
Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR procedures
Experience handling employee-relations matters
Excellent communication, organisation and administrative skills
Discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
A practical, fair and solutions-focused approach
Confidence dealing with managers and employees at all levels
Good IT skills and attention to detail

A CIPD qualification, or working towards one, would be advantageous but is not essential where suitable practical experience can be demonstrated.
