Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Print Finisher/Guillotine Operator to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy-duty guillotine cutting machines to precisely trim printed materials, ensuring high-quality finishes for a variety of print products and general print finishing duties such as operating booklet makers. Your expertise will help maintain efficient workflow and uphold the company's standards for accuracy and safety. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision, mechanical skills, and teamwork are essential.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor guillotine machine to accurately cut printed materials according to specified dimensions and quality standards
- Set up machine parameters, including blade adjustments and safety features, before each job run
- Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring clean cuts without damage or imperfections
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including organising blade sharpening and replacing worn parts using hand tools and power tools
- Handle heavy stacks of raw and printed materials safely, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment as needed
- Follow production schedules, troubleshoot issues, and meet deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Operate various print finishing equipment such as booklet makers, folders etc.
- Mechanical knowledge with experience operating industrial cutting or finishing equipment
- Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for machine setup and maintenance
- Experience or background in manufacturing environments preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during material handling tasks
