Assistant General Manager

Gino D’Acampo Restaurants

Job Purpose

To support the General Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving business performance, and ensuring smooth daily operations in a fast-paced, high-quality Italian restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities Operations Management

Assist in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and food quality
Step in to lead shifts and manage service effectively during peak periods
Ensure compliance with all health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations

Team Leadership

Support recruitment, training, and development of front-of-house staff
Motivate and coach the team to deliver outstanding service aligned with brand standards
Supervise staff performance and handle employee relations issues when required

Customer Experience

Deliver a warm, welcoming, and memorable dining experience for all guests
Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints professionally and efficiently
Maintain high service standards consistent with the Gino D’Acampo brand

Financial Performance

Assist in managing budgets, labour costs, and stock control
Support in achieving sales targets and maximising profitability
Monitor daily sales, costs, and KPIs, reporting directly to the General Manager

Stock & Supplier Management

Oversee ordering, stock rotation, and inventory accuracy
Minimise waste and ensure cost control procedures are followed

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality/restaurants
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Good understanding of financial controls (labour, GP, stock)
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Passion for Italian food, drink, and hospitality
