The successful candidate will be charismatic, customer-focused and keen to help customers throughout the vehicle purchasing and collection process. You will need to communicate clearly, manage multiple bookings and priorities, and use your initiative to resolve issues as they arise.
This is a telephone-based role involving both inbound and outbound calls. You may be required to make up to 50 calls per day to contact customers, gather additional information about their vehicles, arrange the purchase of vehicles and book suitable collection appointments.
Previous experience in sales, customer service, call handling or transport coordination would be beneficial. The role may occasionally involve price negotiation, handling objections and dealing with difficult or frustrated customers, so you must be confident, patient and professional.
As a key part of our operations team, you will help ensure that vehicles are purchased, scheduled and collected efficiently. An understanding of process management and the ability to identify and suggest improvements to existing processes would be advantageous.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Making and receiving inbound and outbound customer calls.
- Contacting customers to obtain additional information about their vehicles.
- Discussing and arranging the purchase of vehicles.
- Making up to 50 customer calls per day.
- Scheduling vehicle collections and allocating suitable collection appointments.
- Organising driver schedules and helping to optimise collection routes and vehicle capacity.
- Advising customers of collection dates, times, availability and the collection process.
- Processing vehicle payments accurately.
- Updating customer, vehicle and collection information within our in-house systems.
- Responding to inbound customer enquiries.
- Handling customer objections, complaints and difficult conversations professionally.
- Assisting with price negotiations where required.
- Managing company documents and maintaining accurate electronic records.
- Working closely with drivers and other departments to resolve collection issues.
- Completing general administrative and ad-hoc duties when required.
- Identifying opportunities to improve customer service and operational processes.
Skills and Experience

- The ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- A calm and professional approach when dealing with difficult customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
- Good general computer skills and experience using internal systems.
- Previous experience in sales, call handling, transport coordination or vehicle purchasing would be beneficial.
- Experience using Excel to organise or manipulate data would be advantageous.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
This is an office-based position and will play an important role in ensuring our vehicle purchasing and collection operations run smoothly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
