We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Dorset Coast Vets on a part-time basis.
At Dorset Coast Vets we have state-of-the-art surgical facilities to deliver a gold standard of care to our patients and clients. We have separate cat and dog operating theatres, fully equipped to undertake a wide range of surgical procedures.
- Experienced team made up of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 10 Veterinary Nurses and 10 Receptionists
- Strong culture of learning and supporting one another
- Excellent facilities including two dental suites, x-ray, ultrasound, and separate dog and cat wards and reception areas
- Dedicated nurse consulting room, allowing nurses to fully utilise their skills
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
Working Pattern
- A mix of early and late shifts between 8:00am and 7:00pm
- 1 in 8 Saturdays, 8:00am–4:30pm
- No out-of-hours work, Sundays or bank holidays
General Responsibilities
- Anaesthetic monitoring and inpatient care
- Running nurse clinics and providing triage support
- Surgical nursing, including Stage 1 dental procedures
- Working collaboratively with vets and the nursing team to deliver excellent patient and client care
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement
