Full job description

FS Engineering, based in Bicester and Oxford, provides tailored fire engineering solutions for clients who require flexible, non-standard system design and support. As our workload continues to grow, we are looking for a Fire Detection Engineer to join our expanding team.

What we’re looking for

Practical experience with fire detection systems

Strong understanding of Kentec control panels using Hochiki/Apollo protocol

Familiarity with EN54 and NFPA72 standards

Ability to read and work from AutoCAD drawings

Confident using Microsoft Excel and Word

Able to manage workload independently and meet deadlines

Background in electrical engineering is preferred

We also welcome applications from candidates with an electrical engineering degree who are motivated to learn fire detection systems.

Key responsibilities

Interpreting design documents and commissioning fire detection and alarm systems, primarily within petrochemical and power generation environments

Producing panel drawings and related documentation

Hands‑on wiring and assembly of bespoke panels and associated equipment

Supporting general workshop tasks when required

Occasional UK travel and some overseas commissioning work

Occasional short‑notice site visits or extended hours

This role is based in Upper Heyford (OX25) and operates Monday to Friday.

Pay: £30,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
