Summary
Coppull St Johns CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and highly organised School Business Support Officer (Bursar) to join our friendly and committed team.
This is a key role within the school, providing high-quality financial, administrative and organisational support to the Headteacher and Governing Body. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the management of the school budget, financial systems and administrative functions, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school.

Working Hours
The post is for 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday, typically:
8:30am 3:45pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
This post is term time only. The salary quoted is full-time equivalent and will be paid on a pro rata basis.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Support the monitoring and management of the school budget, ensuring value for money
- Produce financial reports for the Headteacher and Governing Body
- Manage and develop effective administrative and financial systems
- Work with school systems such as SIMS and SchoolMoney (or similar)
- Support HR administration and personnel processes
- Assist with procurement, contracts and income generation
- Support the school in maintaining high standards of pupil and staff attendance
- Prioritise and manage a varied workload independently to meet deadlines
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality when handling sensitive information

Essential Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
Desirable Qualifications
- School Business Management qualification (CSBM/DSBM or equivalent)
- AAT or relevant financial qualification
Evidence of ongoing professional development

Essential Experience
- Experience working in an administrative and/or finance role
- Experience of working with financial systems and undertaking budget monitoring, including the ability to support financial reporting
- Experience of financial and administrative systems (e.g. SIMS FMS, SchoolMoney or similar)
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload effectively, meeting deadlines
