Butcher / Butchery Assistant

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Butcher / Butchery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of meat cutting and preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Cut, trim, prepare, and portion different types and cuts of meat.
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety at all times.
Keep the butchery counter, equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organised.
Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide advice to customers on different cuts of meat and suitable preparation methods.
Handle sales and payments accurately.
Replenish and display products attractively.
Monitor stock and help minimise waste.
Follow all health and safety and food hygiene procedures.

Requirements

Previous butchery or meat-cutting experience is preferred.
Good knowledge of different meat cuts and preparation techniques.
Strong understanding of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Reliable, responsible, and able to work well as part of a team.
Comfortable handling sales and working directly with customers.
