NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Physiologist/Trainee Clinical Physiologist to join our Respiratory and Sleep Physiology team within the North Sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop specialist skills in respiratory diagnostics and sleep medicine while working towards professional qualifications with the support of an experienced team. You will gain hands-on experience in a wide range of investigations and treatments, contributing directly to patient care and service development. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Key responsibilities:
Clinical Physiologist:
-
Perform a wide range of respiratory and sleep diagnostic investigations
-
Analyse, interpret and produce accurate respiratory and sleep study reports
-
Trainee Clinical Physiologist:
-
Train to perform a wide range of respiratory and sleep diagnostic investigations under the guidance of experienced physiologists
-
Develop the skills to analyse, interpret and produce accurate respiratory and sleep study reports
-
Work towards achieving the ARTP Practitioner Certificate and other professional competencies
Clinical Physiologist/Trainee Clinical Physiologist:
-
Support the delivery of sleep treatment services including CPAP setup, review and troubleshooting
-
Contribute to research projects, service development initiatives and quality improvement activities
-
Maintain equipment quality control processes including calibration, safety checks and infection control procedures
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to provide high-quality patient-centred care
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- BSc in Clinical Physiology or a relevant biology-related degree

Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP) professional certificate (Clinical Physiologist)
-
RCCP/ACHS clinical physiology registration (desirable)

Strong interest in respiratory physiology, sleep medicine and diagnostic healthcare services

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to a diverse range of patients

Ability to work accurately and maintain concentration while performing clinical investigations

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to balance competing demands

Previous healthcare experience is desirable although full training and support will be provided for the successful candidate
