Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Waitress/Waiter to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional guest service, have a solid background in restaurant operations, and demonstrate excellent organisational skills. The Senior Waitress/Waiter will be responsible for ensuring guests enjoy a memorable dining experience through attentive service, effective communication, and efficient team coordination.
Able to work 40hours over 4 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, providing recommendations when appropriate
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff to uphold service standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service areas, including tables, stations, and side stations
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling of food and beverages
- Manage guest concerns or complaints professionally, striving to resolve issues efficiently
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth service flow
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant service, ideally in a senior role
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food preparation practices
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing and transaction purposes
- Familiarity with kitchen operations and culinary processes is advantageous
- Effective time management skills to handle busy service periods seamlessly
- Experience in upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Previous experience in training or mentoring junior staff is desirable
