Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all customers. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic retail setting, ensuring smooth daily operations and fostering positive customer experiences.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases in a professional manner
Operate the cash register, process payments accurately via cash, card, or mobile payments
Issue receipts and handle refunds or exchanges as required
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the checkout area
Answer customer enquiries politely and provide information about products or services
Restock shelves and ensure promotional displays are tidy and appealing
Follow company policies regarding cash handling, security procedures, and health & safety guidelines

Requirements

Previous experience in a cashier or retail role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate transactions
Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required
Basic IT skills to operate point-of-sale systems effectively
A positive attitude and commitment to delivering outstanding customer service

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £10.00-£12.71 per hour
