An exciting opportunity has arisen for Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Spanish City. You will work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to deliver the food and beverage offering throughout the first floor of Spanish City which consists of; The Champagne Bar, 1910 Restaurant, The Gallery (Upper Dome) and our St Mary's Lighthouse Function Suite.
Please note that due to the opening hours, this role is really only suitable for someone who does not need to rely on public transport as you could finish after 1am on some shifts. (So either someone who can drive or who lives within walking distance of Spanish City).
Due to the nature of the hospitality industry you would be required to work most weekends and bank holidays when the building is at its busiest. Due to the hours of operation you will likely work mainly late afternoon / evening shifts. You will work between 40-48 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7.
The ideal candidate is someone who is friendly, approachable and someone who wants to deliver the best customer service. This is not an entry level role and as such you must have at least 1 years hospitality management experience in order to be considered for this role. This is a hands on role and the chosen candidate must be able to demonstrate that they can work well alongside the other team members to deliver the highest standards.
We are looking for someone who leads by example and who has the ability to demonstrate to the team, the correct way to do things. You must be effective in the correct cellar management including stock control and stock ordering. It is also essential that you are methodical and well organised.
This role requires management of 3 main areas;
Our 1910 restaurant - this is a high end, special occasion restaurant requiring the best customer service levels. Knowledge of wines, cheeses, cuts of meat and fine dining service levels are vital for this restaurant.
Our Champagne Bar and Gallery - offering the best cocktails, perfect serve drinks, regionally renowned afternoon teas and fantastic customer service. You must be comfortable leading and working behind a cocktail bar.
St Mary's Lighthouse function Suite - catering for a wide range of functions from Wakes through to full wedding celebrations and everything in-between. We also offer corporate events. Knowledge of banquet meal service and working to function sheet specifications are important here.
Whilst we do not expect a candidate to have experience of the 3 different areas, the chosen candidate will be able to demonstrate competency in at least 2 of the 3 areas outlined above.
In addition to a competitive rate of pay you will also receive a share of the staff tips (paid monthly) and depending on the number of hours you work you may be eligible to receive an employer contributed pension.
