Multiple Locations Across the UK

Select Plant Hire is looking for experienced Slinger/Signallers to join our teams on major infrastructure and construction projects across the UK.

As part of our directly employed workforce, you'll play a critical role in ensuring lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently whilst benefiting from excellent training, development and long-term career opportunities.

KEY DUTIES

Safely sling and signal loads in accordance with lifting plans and site procedures.
Direct crane movements using approved hand signals and communication methods.
Inspect lifting accessories prior to use and report any defects.
Ensure loads are secured correctly before lifting operations commence.
Maintain effective communication with Crane Operators, Crane Supervisors and site management.
Establish and maintain safe lifting zones and exclusion areas.
Follow lift plans, risk assessments and method statements.
Report hazards, incidents and near misses promptly.
Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping at all times.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Proven experience working as a Slinger/Signaller on construction or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of lifting operations and safe systems of work.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Proactive approach to health and safety.
Reliable, responsible and safety focused.
Ability to work in a fast-paced site environment.
Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

CPCS Blue Slinger/Signaller Card (A40)
Valid CSCS Health, Safety and Environment Test

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Crane Supervisor Qualification
Experience working on major infrastructure projects
Knowledge of complex lifting operations
