This is a rare opportunity to join an innovative designer and manufacturer of advanced camera robotics and virtual production technologies used in the high-end film and broadcast industry. You will be part of a small, friendly Production team, carrying out hands-on assembly and soldering of component parts.
Hours of work are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (with some flexibility on start and finish times), Monday to Friday. There is no shift work or regular overtime.
This role would suit someone practical and hands-on, with some experience in electronics and assembly work such as wiring and soldering. Training will be provided, particularly on mechanical assembly and workshop machinery.
What You’ll Do:
- Accurately solder and assemble small wires, cables, and electronic components following written specifications
- Soldering to a consistent and reliable standard
- Mechanical assembly using hand tools: bolting, fastening, fitting parts together accurately
- Working from drawings and assembly instructions
- Keeping your workspace tidy and parts properly organised
- Flagging problems promptly to the Production Manager rather than letting them build up
- Working on product repairs and returns as directed by the Production Manager
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the workshop
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations at all times
What We’re Looking For:
- Solid soldering experience, or a strong hands-on background in electronics
- Good hand-eye coordination and a steady hand for assembly work of very small, often PCB components
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working with your hands, using hand tools, and keen to be trained
- Understanding of a torque setting and why it matters
- Attentive to details
- Ability to stay focused and maintain work quality through repetitive work
- Ability to cope with a diverse and rapidly changing workflow
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Benefits & Perks:
- Casual office environment
- Continuous development opportunities and support
- Private health insurance with AXA Health that covers many physical and mental health costs, including dental and vision cash back
- Gym membership discounts via AXA Health
- Group life insurance and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Cycle to Work scheme – we’ll buy a bike up-front, and you can pay it off over the next 12 months via a salary sacrifice scheme
- We organise occasional in-person office socials to make sure you can build on deeper trusting connections with peers
- 33 days base holiday (25 days + 8 bank holidays) including company closure between Christmas and New Year
