PharmacyExprezz is a GPhC-registered pharmacy and private healthcare clinic based in Great Yarmouth. We provide a growing range of NHS and private healthcare services, including travel vaccinations, private blood testing, earwax removal, health checks, weight-management support, vitamin injections, cryotherapy, ear piercing and NHS Pharmacy First services.
We are looking for a professional, patient-focused and motivated pharmacist to join our expanding team. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys combining traditional pharmacy practice with clinical services, private healthcare and business development.
Purpose of the Role
The pharmacist will provide safe, effective and person-centred pharmaceutical care while supporting the delivery and development of PharmacyExprezz’s NHS, online and private clinical services.
The successful candidate will ensure that all pharmacy activities are carried out safely, professionally and in accordance with current legislation, professional standards, company procedures and clinical governance requirements.
Main Responsibilities
Pharmacy and Clinical Responsibilities
- Undertake Responsible Pharmacist duties when required.
- Clinically assess prescriptions and ensure medicines are supplied safely and appropriately.
- Identify potential prescribing errors and other medicine-related concerns.
- Deliver a professional, welcoming and confidential service to every patient.
- Provide clear, evidence-based advice to patients about their medicines, treatments and health conditions.
- Counsel patients on the safe and effective use of prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
- Respond appropriately to clinical enquiries from patients, prescribers, care providers and other healthcare professionals.
- Make appropriate referrals to GPs, urgent care services or other healthcare professionals when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Support the safe delivery of distance-selling and online pharmacy services where applicable.
- Ensure safe storage, handling and supply of medicines, including controlled drugs and medicines requiring cold-chain storage.
NHS and Private Services
Depending on completion of required training, competency and service requirements, the pharmacist may support or provide:
- NHS Pharmacy First consultations.
- Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Travel health consultations and vaccinations.
- Yellow Fever vaccination services.
- Malaria prevention consultations.
- Private blood-testing and phlebotomy services.
- Health checks and cardiovascular risk assessments.
- Blood-pressure, blood-glucose and cholesterol testing.
- Vitamin B12 and vitamin D services.
- Weight-management consultations.
- Earwax-removal assessments and services.
- Cryotherapy consultations.
- Other private services introduced by PharmacyExprezz.
Clinical Governance and Compliance
- Work in accordance with GPhC standards, relevant legislation and PharmacyExprezz policies.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and clinical service protocols.
- Maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
- Complete mandatory training and maintain evidence of continuing professional development.
- Report and document dispensing incidents, near misses, safeguarding concerns and adverse events.
- Participate in audits, risk assessments and quality-improvement activities.
- Ensure that consultation rooms, clinical equipment and medicine-storage areas remain safe and suitable.
- Support infection-prevention and control procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data-protection requirements.
- Participate in the review and improvement of standard operating procedures where appropriate.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must:
- Hold an accredited pharmacy degree or recognised equivalent qualification.
- Be registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom (Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) available for the right candidate)
- Have appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
- Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and professional judgement.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and colleagues.
- Be confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Be organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities.
- Maintain accurate clinical and administrative records.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality, consent, safeguarding and clinical governance.
- Be willing to complete additional training required for PharmacyExprezz services.
- Be comfortable using pharmacy, booking and electronic patient-record systems.

Pay: £35,000.00-£66,000.00 per year
