Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Ground Worker/Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing construction sites, executing concrete finishing tasks, and assisting with various ground work activities. Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up forms, and ensuring proper grading for concrete placement
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery safely and effectively to assist with ground leveling and concrete finishing tasks
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, troweling, and applying finishing techniques to achieve a high-quality surface finish
- Assist with the installation of reinforcement materials such as rebar or wire mesh as needed for structural integrity
- Conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment, performing maintenance or reporting issues promptly
- Support other trades such as carpentry, masonry, roofing, or mechanical work when required on-site
- Follow safety protocols diligently and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Experience
- Proven experience working as a ground worker, concrete finisher, or in a similar construction role
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery used in ground preparation and concrete finishing
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and maintenance is highly desirable
- Basic carpentry or masonry skills that support site setup and finishing tasks are advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or experience with commercial driving is a plus but not mandatory
- Prior experience in roofing or working with reinforcement materials such as rebar or wire mesh is beneficial
